| Green Practices Award
This award, sponsored by Pennsylvania American Water, was brand new for 2009! The Green Practices Award honors businesses that incorporate outstanding green practices within their operations, such as recycling, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, using alternative energy and purchasing green office supplies, kitchen disposables and cleaning products. Awards will are given in 2 categories: 2-100 employees and 101+ employees.
Eligibility
• Nominees must integrate environmental sustainability as a core value and point of reference into their business’s operational and corporate structure via six major components of sustainability- waste reduction & recycling, water conservation, energy efficiency, transportation, buying & selling green products and pollution prevention.
• Awards will be given in 2 categories, 2-100 employees and 101+ employees.
• Nominees must be a member, in good standing, of The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce at the time of application and at the time the award is presented.
• If selected as an award finalist, at least one representative from the business must attend the Chamber’s Award Gala.
Nominations for this award are open from August 2 to September 30.
