Nominate a Business for a Chamber Award
The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce and MetroAction have partnered to honor area businesses through its SAGE Awards. The SAGE Awards, which stand for Scranton Awards for Growth and Excellence, celebrate the outstanding efforts of the local business community and their talent, creativity, and innovation in a challenging business environment. Awards will be given in the following categories:
Best Practices in Community Involvement (New)
Best Practices in Customer Service (New)
Best Practices in Human Resources and Leadership (New)
Best Practices in Technology and Innovation (New)
Excellence in Professional Development
Green Practices
Healthy Workplace of the Year
Hometown Star
New and Emerging Small Business (New)
Non-Profit Organization of the Year (New)
Pride and Progress in Exterior Renovations
Pride and Progress in Interior Renovations
Pride and Progress in New Construction
Pride and Progress in Landscape and Site Design
Pride and Progress in Community Pride
Pride and Progress in Green Renovations
Small Business of the Year
Solo-preneur of the Year (New)
Woman of Excellence (New, replaces ATHENA)
Young Entrepreneur (New)

Three finalists will be selected for each category and the winner will be announced at the annual Awards Gala on November 11. In addition, all finalists (with the exception of Pride and Progress finalists) will be entered into the Peoples Choice Award category, sponsored by People's National Bank.
The SAGE Awards give business and other organizations the opportunity to showcase themselves and demonstrate their success to the community. It is also a great way to open doors to new opportunities. The award finalists and winners will receive extensive pre and post-event exposure through our marketing partnerships with several media outlets, including Times-Shamrock Communications, Lamar, WBRE, WYOU, FOX, My Network and CW.
Judging Criteria
Our award review committee will evaluate all applications that meet the eligibility criteria. Committee decisions are final.
Up to three finalists will be selected for each award/category.
All finalists must be present at the Chamber Awards Gala where the recipient of each award/category will be announced.
Finalists from all award categories (except Pride & Progress categories) will have the opportunity to be selected as the Peoples Choice Award recipient. The recipient of this award will be determined by a community popular vote.

Nomination Deadline
The deadline for applications is September 30, 2010.
Each year The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce and MetroAction recognize area businesses for various achievements. We are proud to honor members who make contributions to the business community as they contribute to the growth of our tremendous quality of life.
The nomination period for 2010 Chamber awards is open from August 2 to Sept. 30.
