Steamtown National Historic Site Announces Special Steam Excursion to Tunkhannock Viaduct
Steamtown National Historic Site is pleased to announce that the Canadian Pacific Railroad will allow a special steam passenger train excursion from the Historic Site to famed the famed Tunkhannock Viaduct on Saturday, September 6, 2008 in commemeration of the 93rd anniversary of the viaduct.
The train will depart the Steamtown National Historic Society Boarding Platform at 1:00pm and will arrive at he famed bridge between 2:00 - 2:15. Enjoy fantastic views of the Endless Mountains in Wyoming County before the train arrives back in Scranton at 4:00pm.

16th Annual Cancer Survivors Celebration
Northeast Regional Cancer Institute will host the 16th Annual Cancer Survivors Celebration on Saturday, June 14th from 1-4 pm at Scranton Memorial Stadium.Anyone affected by cancer, their family members, and friends are invited to attend the free event. This year the event will feature The Cancer Institute Art Therapy Tile Project, Survivors banner, caricaturists, and children’s games. Free food and beverages will be provided.
