Alicia Tompkins took on the role of small business and community development specialist at The Chamber and its affiliate, MetroAction, in 2010. In this position, she works with start-up and existing businesses to ensure they have the support needed to grow. Tompkins acts as a representative to initiate and maintain contacts with local organizations and referral partners, connects businesses with various resources, and prepares internal and external communications for business development. In addition, Tompkins assists with functions pertaining to the MetroAction microloan program. She acts as the MetroAction outreach coordinator for technical assistance services, administers all of MetroAction’s small business award programs, and initiates and maintains contacts with local organizations and referral partners.
