EMPOWER, The Leadership Experience, formerly NEPA Women’s Leadership Conference, presented by Geisinger, is the premier women’s leadership conference in the region. The conference highlights the ability all women have to create positive change in their communities and in their own lives – both professionally and personally – while recognizing the extraordinary power that exists when women come together to support each other.

The full day conference features two national keynote speakers and thirty-nine regional speakers who will address topics such as leadership development and personal and professional development. There will also be several panel discussions on various, relevant topics. In addition, EMPOWER features a Wellness Studio offering several opportunities for health and wellness experiences, like yoga, meditation, and stretching.

We are pleased to offer a unique opportunity for teens. We have specifically curated a program for teen attendees that is designed to enhance personal and professional development. 

Teens, age 16-18, will have the opportunity to attend four TEEN breakout sessions, listen to two keynote sessions, participate in the Wellness Studio, and visit the Vendor Marketplace. 

EMPOWER has partnered with Leadership Lackawanna and Leadership Northeast to manage and mentor students throughout the day.  Mentors have all necessary background checks and clearances.  Students must provide their own transportation.

Criteria: 
  • Teens aged 16-18 years old currently enrolled in high school.
  • A maximum of 50 teens will be accepted for the Teen Program.
  • The cost to attend is $100 per student. This is a discounted rate for TEEN participants ONLY (Regular Conference Rate is $349/attendee).  Exact details regarding payment will be determined upon acceptance.

Application and Selection Process:
  • The application must be completed (see button below for a link to the application).
  • Parent Permission Form must be completed. The form must be e-mailed to: empower@scrantonchamber.com no later than March 29, 2024
  • Application is now Closed!
  • Payment is NOT required at the time of application. Payment is required prior to the date of the conference – April 25, 2024.
  • Applications submitted will be reviewed and attendees notified.
