Ryan Buchanan is the director of marketing and communications for The Chamber. In this position, he is responsible for The Chamber and its affiliates’ brands by overseeing the management of its marketing and communication strategies and practices in the greater Scranton community, including helping to generate positive media coverage, handling The Chamber’s online presence, and working in conjunction with The Chambers eight affiliate programs in promoting economic opportunities, workforce development initiatives, and small business expansion. He also manages The Chamber’s communications manager and interns as they work to promote its strategic initiatives to the members and to the surrounding region. Prior to working for The Chamber, Buchanan held communications, marketing, and fundraising roles at organizations that are members of The Chamber, the latest position held with the Keystone Mission. Originally from Harrisburg, PA, Buchanan moved to northeastern Pennsylvania, where he attended Clarks Summit University (formerly Baptist Bible College). There, he earned a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration, and since then, he has completed postgraduate work in strategic marketing management at Liberty University. Outside the Chamber, Mr. Buchanan is a board member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Northeast PA Chapter and is a board member of the Alumni Executive Council for his alma mater, Clarks Summit University.
