FNCB Bank Donates Scholarship Funds to Saint Dominic’s Academy FNCB Bank, locally based since 1910, has announced a $7,500 Pennsylvania Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) donation to Saint Dominic’s Academy in Honesdale. The donation will help provide tuition assistance to families of currently enrolled children, and those enrolling at Saint Dominic’s Academy. Since 2010, FNCB has contributed just under $2,500,000 to local educational and scholarship organizations through the EITC initiative. FNCB Bank’s Adopt-A-Family Program Employees from FNCB Bank, locally based since 1910, recently donated grocery gift cards and more than 100 wrapped gifts to nine local families as part of the Bank’s “Adopt-A-Family” holiday project. More than 130 FNCB staff members participated this year in Adopt-a-Family, the Bank’s signature holiday gift-giving event. The program matches local families in need from the Catherine McAuley Centers and Children and Youth Services of Wayne County with those wishing to donate. “Since launching the program nine years ago, more than 100 families have been adopted, helping to make a brighter Christmas for many in Northeastern Pennsylvania,” said Gerard Champi, FNCB Bank President & CEO. “We’re grateful to every team member who joined our campaign and helped us provide food and gifts to families in need this holiday season.” The Adopt-a-Family project is part of FNCB’s larger Community Caring initiative. FNCB Bank Foundation Announces 2021 College Scholarship Winners FNCB Bank, locally-based since 1910, is pleased to announce the winners of the FNCB Bank Foundation merit scholarship awards for the 2021-2022 academic year. Overall, the foundation awarded $1,000 scholarships to three area high school seniors based on their academic excellence, community and school involvement, and citizenship. This year’s winners are Isabella Wisenburn of Abington Heights High School, Sarah Stettler of Holy Redeemer High School, and Danielle Lamberti of Lackawanna Trail High School. FNCB Bank Announces Staff Promotions FNCB, locally-based since 1910, today announced several staff promotions. Keehna Murphy, Vice President, Credit Analyst Supervisor Keehna Murphy has been promoted to Vice President, Credit Analyst Supervisor where she will oversee mentoring and training of credit staff as well as prepare, review and assess risk associated with commercial credit requests. She joined FNCB in 2014 as a credit analyst. Prior to joining FNCB, she had extensive credit analysis experience in the community banking sector. Ms. Murphy is a graduate of Union-Endicott High School (NY) and Marywood University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She earned an MBA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She resides in Clarks Green with her husband Mark and daughter Ella. Ellen Pritchard, Vice President, Community Office Manager Ellen Pritchard has been promoted to Vice President, Community Office Manager where she is responsible for managing the daily operations of the FNCB Bank Community Office in Honesdale. She joined FNCB in 2006 as a Senior Customer Service Representative before being promoted to Community Office Manager of the Honesdale branch in 2010. Ms. Pritchard is a graduate of Southeast High School (Bradenton, FL) and has completed numerous American Institute of Banking courses. She resides in Honesdale with her husband Dick. Kelley Zionce, Assistant Vice President, Community Office Manager II Kelley Zionce has been promoted to Assistant Vice President, Community Office Manager II where she is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Back Mountain FNCB Bank Community Office. She joined FNCB in 2013 as a Customer Service Representative and held various positions before being promoted to Community Office Manager of the Back Mountain branch in 2018. Prior to joining FNCB she had more than 20 years of experience in banking. Ms. Zionce is a graduate of Hanover Area High School and Luzerne County Community College with a degree in business administration. She is a 2018 graduate of Leadership Wilkes-Barre and is a board member of the Back Mountain Chamber of Commerce. She resides in Wilkes-Barre and has three children: Marissa, Jonathon and Jillian. The Transitional Skills Center is a state-of-the-art facility where students with different disabilities develop the skills they need to reach their independent living goals. Part of MyCIL (Northeast PA Center for Independent Living), the Transitional Skills Center features comprehensive and customized programming that includes community-based learning experiences, recreation and wellness, group facilitation and more. FNCB Bank Removes Masks on Dunmore Buck and Penn State Nittany Lion FNCB Bank employees officially removed the masks that have been in place on the “Dunmore Buck” and Penn State Nittany Lion outside of their branch since the early stages of the pandemic. “Both the Buck and Lion have been fully vaccinated and in accordance with the new CDC guidance, will no longer need to wear their masks as they enjoy many beautiful days at Dunmore Corners,” said Michael Cummings, Vice President, Marketing Manager.
FNCB Bank Donates $5,000 to Support Vocational Training Programs at Allied Services FNCB Bank announced its support for Allied Services with a $5,000 donation to the Vocational Services Division. FNCB will serve as co-presenting sponsors of Allied Services 2021 Vocational Services Golf Classic. The charity tournament is scheduled for Monday, July 12, 2021, at Glenmaura National Golf Club in Moosic, Pa. Now in its 28th year, the tournament benefits individuals with disabilities participating in training and employment programs provided by the non-profit health system. Allied Services Vocational Services Division serves over 500 individuals with disabilities each year. Individuals with disabilities enrolled in the program receive specialized training, development of work-related skills, and supervision and guidance in the workplace as needed. The goal of the program is to support and empower individuals with disabilities as members of the workforce. The Vocational Services Golf Classic features a shotgun start, lunch, cocktail hour, and an awards program. FNCB Bank Donates $5,000 to Wilkes-Barre’s Diamond City Partnership FNCB Bank, locally-based since 1910, has announced a $5,000 Pennsylvania Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) donation to Wilkes-Barre’s Diamond City Partnership in support of their Give Hope initiative. In partnership with the Volunteers of America Pennsylvania (VOAPA), the Give Hope initiative helps the homeless population in Wilkes-Barre through outreach, rapid service navigation, and arrest diversion efforts. The support of Diamond City Partnership is part of FNCB’s larger Community Caring initiative. Local Organizations Receive Almost $250,000 to Reduce Homelessness FHLBank Pittsburgh recently announced Home4Good funding awarded to programs across the state working to reduce homelessness, including seven organizations in Lackawanna County and one in Luzerne County that split $248,190.55. FNCB Bank was one of six local financial institutions to serve as a member co-applicant to make these awards possible. Distribution of the funding was overseen by local Continuum of Care organizations. Home4Good is a flexible grant product that supports projects, programs and activities that lead to stable housing for those who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. In response to COVID-19, FHLBank Pittsburgh and their partners – the Delaware State Housing Authority, Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency and the West Virginia Housing Development Fund (collectively, HFAs) – changed the 2020 Home4Good process so that funding could more swiftly reach communities, families and individuals experiencing homelessness as a result of COVID-19. FHLBank Pittsburgh awarded $4.8 million to the 2020 Home4Good initiative. The HFAs in Delaware, Pennsylvania and West Virginia added an additional $2 million, bringing the total funding amount to $6.8 million. Local organizations receiving grants were: Valley Youth House Committee, Inc., Community Intervention Center, Catherine McAuley Center, Catholic Social Services of the Diocese of Scranton, Inc., United Neighborhood Centers of NEPA, Women’s Resource Center Inc., Saint Joseph’s Center and the Commission on Economic Opportunity (CEO). “The Women’s Resource Center (WRC) is grateful for its partnership with the United Neighborhood Center, the Scranton Lackawanna County Continuum of Care, and the continued support of FNCB Bank. WRC provides comprehensive services for victims of domestic and sexual violence in our community. The monies allocated were used toward staffing for homeless prevention, rehousing as well as cleaning supplies.
