Scranton Area Community Foundation Awards $2,000 Grant to Leadership Lackawanna Leadership Lackawanna, an affiliate organization to The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, and a local nonprofit organization dedicated to community leadership and professional development, announces the support from the Scranton Area Community Foundation for its Welcome Scranton! program. In correlation with the Foundation’s Spring Grants cycle, Leadership Lackawanna received a $2,000 Community Needs Grant. The grant funds will be directly used in the support and delivery of Welcome Scranton!, a 2 ½ day program designed to give participants a quick, but thorough, understanding of Scranton and Lackawanna County, along with a revitalized sense of putting leadership into action. enrollment is open to everyone, from newcomers to area natives, from entry-level employees to executives. “Participating in Welcome Scranton gave me an insider look at so many unique places in and around Scranton. I learned more in 2 and a half days than in the 7 years I’ve lived here, and I connected with some wonderful people along the way! Your creative eye and technical skills will contribute to upcoming marketing campaigns, showcasing the essence and offerings of various enterprises. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of visual storytelling and marketing. Responsibilities: Collaborate with the communications team to understand campaign objectives and business requirements. Conduct pre-shoot research to familiarize yourself with the businesses and their unique characteristics. Capture high-quality video footage and images that highlight the key aspects of each business, including products, services, and ambiance. Ensure all visual content aligns with brand guidelines and campaign themes. Edit video footage and photos to create engaging content suitable for various marketing channels, including social media, websites, and promotional materials. Assist in the organization and maintenance of digital assets, including file management and metadata tagging. Collaborate with stakeholders to incorporate feedback and iterate on content until it meets quality standards. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in visual storytelling and content creation. Requirements: Currently enrolled in a degree program related to photography, videography, visual arts, marketing, or a related field. Proficiency in using DSLR cameras, video equipment, and editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Final Cut Pro). Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for composition, lighting, and visual aesthetics. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Demonstrated creativity and ability to think outside the box to produce compelling visual content. Ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A passion for storytelling and a desire to learn and grow in the field of visual content creation. Duration: This is a summer intern position, with flexible start and end dates to accommodate academic schedules. Requirements: Must have reliable transportation. NeighborWorks Kicks Off of West Scranton Events with Spring EGGstravaganza NeighborWorks is hosting its second egg hunt in West Scranton on Saturday, April 13th at Novembrino Park (201 10th Ave, Scranton, PA). There will be music, community resources, games, and more from 11am to 3pm. The egg hunt will start promptly at 1pm and all ages are welcome. The event is free and will be held rain or shine, and participants are encouraged to bring their own baskets. NeighborWorks is expanding the event this year to have more activities available to participants. The Youth Arts Coalition will be providing arts activities for children in attendance. Additionally, the Albright Memorial Library will be signing people up for library cards and have free books to give away. Friends of the Poor will have healthy snacks and information on their services available just a few blocks away from the splashpad. Fidelity Bank will have free ice cream from 12-2pm, PennDOT will have crosswalk safety demonstrations, and the PA Department of Health will have COVID test kits, tick prevention information, and more! Both years, the event has been initiated and driven by West Scranton’s Image, Identity, and Events committee member, Vivian Williams. She has worked with West Scranton Intermediate School to get candy donations and volunteers to help fill the eggs with candy for the egg hunt. This year she will also be managing the volunteers during the event to make sure everything runs smoothly. This initiative is part of NeighborWorks’ West Scranton Neighborhood Plan, a comprehensive 10-year strategy for improving the neighborhood. It kicks off a slate of annual events in the neighborhood, including the Allen Park Summer Concert Series, Fall Festival, and West Side Wonderland Tree Lighting. Wayne Bank CEO to Begin Term on Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia Council The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia today announced a new chair and two new members of its Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council (CDIAC), including James Donnelly, CEO of Wayne Bank. James Donnelly, president and CEO of Wayne Bank and Norwood Financial Corp, and Jeffrey Kapsar, president and CEO of Mifflinburg Bank and Trust Company, today began three-year terms on the CDIAC. Jeffrey Stopko, president and CEO of AmeriServ Financial, Inc., has been appointed as chair to represent the Third Federal Reserve District on the Federal Reserve Board’s CDIAC for 2024. Stopko has been a member of the Philadelphia Fed’s advisory council since 2021. About James Donnelly Donnelly has been president and CEO of Wayne Bank and Norwood Financial Corp, headquartered in Honesdale, PA, since May 2022. Donnelly also serves on the board of directors for Wayne Bank and Norwood Financial Corp, and on the Leadership, Officers Loan, Asset Quality, ALCO, and 401(k) Committees.
